From 9^th to 12^th August 2007 in the ecovillage Siebenlinden, Sachsenanhalt, Germany (for the German Railways see www.bahn.de).

This gathering will last from Thursday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and will be a good oportunity to get to know different straw bale construction techniques and straw bale projects from many European countries. We are looking forward to interesting country presentations.

We will have a lot of time to get to know each other, to develop connections to each other and to prepare future projects and activities.

The conference language will be English, though we will try to activate some people to make up for translations if needed.

In Siebenlinden most people will have to stay in tents that must be brought.
There are only few beds in 3 dormitories in the Regiohaus for 6 to 8 people each.In close little towns it is possible to rent a room in a hotel Please look yourself for these accomodations.

How to get there

Please use public transport if at all possible. The nearest railway
stations are Salzwedel and Oebisfelde (our local station has
unfortunately being closed down). From there take bus 422 to Poppau-Ort.
This is about a kilometre from the ecovillage, and you can easily walk
from there.

For those of you who come by car we charge €2.50 per night for car
parking. This money is used for the maintenance of our visitors bikes.

How to find ÖKODORF SIEBEN LINDEN by car.

On a big scale, the ecovillage SIEBEN LINDEN is located almost in the
centre between the cities of Berlin, Hamburg and Hanover. The closest
highway exits are Lüneburg (north-west), Wolfsburg (south-west) and
Magdeburg (south-east). Follow the country road between Beetzendorf and
Klötze to Bandau. Here turn to the small village of Poppau. Follow the
main road and find the ecovillage north of Poppau on your right side
